The last week has been quite a busy one in the world of news.  But two stories stand out the most and that’s what we’ll be talking about here.

The first news story – the Truman carrier battle group was set to deploy to the Gulf on February 8^th.  However, the deployment was cancelled at the last minute, supposedly because of budget reasons. 

Here’s what we know for fact – the 5,000 + sailors of the Truman carrier were packed and ready to go on their deployment to the Gulf.  This means that the ship was fully ready for deployment and was full of all the necessary supplies for this deployment.

For whatever reason (budget cuts?), the deployment was cancelled at the last minute.  In addition, in a rare appearance, the commander of the carrier strike group, held a press conference to reiterate the reasons for cancelling the deployment.  This act in itself doesn’t sit well with me personally because having an admiral speak to reaffirm what the Secretary of Defense has already stated only serves to support the idea that this is a cover-up and they are only attempting to convince you otherwise by having an admiral publicly speak about it.

I served in the US Armed Forces and can tell you that deployments that are planned for do not typically get cancelled a few days prior to the actual deployment.  It takes tons of resources and man hours to get ready for a deployment of this magnitude and to cancel at the last minute is questionable at best.

Now, we have a fully equipped carrier group that is ready to deploy at a moment’s notice with no orders except to wait in dock.  The question is, why?  Why would the Secretary of Defense want a carrier to be at the ready while at home when he made it clear it would not be deploying overseas?

So what’s the number one reason from a military perspective?  To be militarily ready to respond to a domestic crisis here at home.  That, of course, only poses more questions like what kind of crisis could occur here at home that would require a carrier battle group to be at the ready?  Well, it would obviously have to be a big crisis if a carrier battle group stands in the ready to respond.

Okay, let’s talk about the Pope’s resignation.  Two things that stand out about his resignation: first, resignations from the papal throne does NOT occur typically and hasn’t done so in almost 600 years and two, it came as a complete surprise to most in the Catholic church, including the head of the US arch diocese, Cardinal Dolan.

What would possess the Pope to resign his position in the Church and do so abruptly?  Sure, you could buy the cover story that it’s his health but if history has told us anything it’s that the Pope serves his post even when in bad health.  Most people know that the Pope typically serves until his death.  But for whatever reason, this Pope is resigning because of his health?  It just doesn’t add up.

When you add the Pope’s resignation to the cancelled Truman deployment, you have a much more interesting story to talk about and I’m sure mainstream media will fail to make a connection because doing so would only shed light on what’s really going on behind the scenes.

So what’s going on behind the scenes that would cause the US to cancel a major military deployment and would cause the leader of the largest religion to resign his post?  Well, I can’t be certain but I can say that it’s going to be big.  Big enough to cause the Pope to flee his post and big enough to force the US to have one of its largest military units at the ready, at home!

I would say at this point to hold on because it’s clear that something big is about to break and it’s gonna be one hell of a ride.  This could be the moment we have all been waiting for and if it is, these two events make a whole lot of more sense than their supposed cover stories ever could.
